Upcoming Video Games for the Spring and Summer Season!

Many kids are excited for summer, and they are even more excited for the video games set to be released this summer. Among them are: Batman: Arkham Knight, Until Dawn, Yoshi’s Woolly World, Assassin’s Creed: Victory, and Resident Evil: Revelation 2.


Batman: Arkham Knight is set to be released on June 23rd on PS4, Xbox One, and PC from Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment. The objective is to capture all the bad guys such as: Two-Face, Joker, Scarecrow and a new and improved Dr.Penguin. With its release, players will be able to navigate the world like never before. Due to Batman’s new weaponry and sleek, metallic appearance complete with an all new mask and the Batmobile’s obvious upgrades, many wait anxiously for the game’s release. The Batmobile has been upgraded to have both a stealth mode and a battle mode. The stealth mode is sleek and allows you to hide from your enemies. The battle mode allows you to easily handle your enemies with weapons such as tasers on the wheels and a deadly machine gun on the top of the car. None of the previous installments let you use the Batmobile like this. This installment takes the future to a whole new level.

Until Dawn is an upcoming adventure survival horror game from Supermassive Games and Sony Computer Entertainment. It will be available exclusively on PS4. The game focuses on eight teenagers trapped on a remote mountain retreat. When things turn sinister, they suspect that they may not alone. With tensions running high, the player must make decisions at the snap of a finger. Every choice that the player makes has an impact on whether the group will survive until morning or perish.


Assassin’s Creed: Victory Credit: Master Herald

Assassin’s Creed: Victory is set in 19th-century London in the Victorian Era. It is set to be released this fall by Ubisoft Quebec. It can be played on Xbox One, PS4 and PC , but it will not be available for second generation consoles such as Xbox 360 and PS3. According to Eddie Makuch, Ubisoft was disappointed by the assets leak. A representative of Ubisoft says, “It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked…The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we’re excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date.” It seems like fans of the Assassin’s Creed series will have to wait for more information on the series.


Yoshi’s Woolly World Credit: DualShockers

Yoshi’s Woolly World is an upcoming 2015 side-scrolling performer video game and will be available for the Wii-U. It will be released on June 26th from  the developers of Good Feel, Nintendo Software Planning & development. Yoshi’s Woolly World is a platform game in which the player assumes the role of Yoshi.  The characters and environment in the game are composed of yarn and cloth and the objective of the game is to make it past all the levels and not running into obstacles. Yoshi retains much of the move-set from the Yoshi’s Island series games, including the abilities to swallow his enemies and to use flutter to jump to hard-to-reach areas. Other elements, such as flowers and mystery clouds, return as well. Yoshi will also be able to make transformations, such as turning his legs into wheels. The Game also includes what is called a ‘’Mellow mode’’ and in that Yoshi gets a pair of wings that enable him to infinitely fly through a stage avoiding most obstacles and hazards.Mellow Mode can be turned off anytime for players to play a classic mode.


Resident Evil 2: Revelations Credit: Mega Games

Resident Evil: Revelations 2, known as Biohazard Revelations 2, is an episodic horror survival video game and the tenth installment of the Resident Evil Franchise developed and published by Capcom and Frita Studios,objective of the game is to survive the levels and get rid of the zombies. It will be available in June 2015 on Playstation 4, Xbox One, Playstation Vita, Xbox 360, and other consoles.  Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is set between the events of Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6. It supports cooperative game playing on console platforms. The game has stealth elements, such as the ability of only one player to use a gun. This makes the other player is more vulnerable because they have to use weapons such as crowbars and bricks or use a flashlight or special senses to find hidden items.
