Diving into the new, 2024 allied soccer season, Coach Rahnama and her team look to score goals on and off the field. While scoring goals in the game is important, the biggest goal is inclusiveness. Coach Rahnama’s main hope for the season is that players feel a “Belonging to a team and new friends”.

Allied soccer embodies Hammonds main mantra, “where people are important” by showcasing an opportunity to demonstrate that all students, regardless of size or experience, have a chance at athletic success as well as representing their school.

The allied soccer team knows that these games aren’t always about being the best, Coach Rahnama views it as an opportunity for a good time for everybody involved, saying the emphasis is on the students “Enjoying themselves.” “It’s non-competitive,” she says, “and everybody gets a chance to be a winner.”

This is the basis of which Allied Soccer is built on: inclusiveness, sportsmanship, and friendship. Allied Soccer accomplishes all of these goals and instills these values in each of the players as a reflection of Hammond and its athletics. With the season ending in November, the team looks forward to finishing the season strong and with a positive mindset.
