Released on November 5, 2021, Marvel’s Eternals reached $402.1 million in the box office and rapidly gained popularity on Disney+. The combined creative input of Marvel president Kevin Feige and producer Nate Moore, with the addition of the exceptional director Chloe Zhao gave this movie a special flair, and millions of Marvel fans would agree.

The star-studded cast added some major points to the success of the movie. The cast included the amazing Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, Gemma Chan, and Kit Harrington just to name a few. The actors’ on-screen chemistry was incredible for the audience to watch, along with a few surprise appearances from celebrities that shocked fans.

The Eternals, Thena, Ajax, Ikaris, Sersi, Druig, and an array of others must band together to defeat enemy forces, both from within their circle and from external opponents. We are introduced to the Deviants, monsters that have been roaming the earth on a mission to hunt and kill humans.

The Eternals have been fighting these Deviants since the beginning of their existence, serving their purpose of protecting humans on planet Earth. Despite living on earth for so long, the Eternals are not allowed to interfere with human conflict, explaining their role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Aside from the Deviants, the Eternals face challenges that come with conflicting ideals and principles between the superheroes.

The group is divided as they are faced with a paramount decision whose result would decide the fate of Earth and all its mortal inhabitants.

While this movie is filled with great tragedy, these devastating events allow the group to reunite and come together to save the planet from a force sure to destroy it. The film explores relationships, friendships, and rivalries between the different characters, giving the group the familiar “Avengers” feel while portraying an entirely new plot.

All aspects of this film were made with great attention to detail, but one thing that made it stand out is the special effects. From the monsters to the landscapes, everything about the special effects was truly a work of art. Many of the effects needed for this film were on an enormous scale, making the feat much more difficult but much more impressive when completed.

Overall, this movie was a joy to watch and I enjoyed it with my family multiple times. This film was a new and exciting concept yet still tied into the MCU that we all know and love. If viewers are looking for similar movies, with action, great visual effects, and a little romance, Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers are great movies to watch.
